This area location specific research highlights the cost of life decisions for the average resident of South Dakota. Certain sections also refer to national statistics for comparison. With the focus on economic issues such as earnings and debt, it made sense to base the grid and typography off of newspaper classifieds ads.
This conclusion also inspired the halftone effect for the image treatment.
Application Design
The previous research inspired me to create an application that helps prospective students gather resources for planning their post-seoncdary education. Users are able to search for schools based on interests or area. They can filter their results based on more advanced options or subscribe to alerts for different genres or specific schools.
Animation Graphics
A kinetic type approach was taken to animate the data visualized in the poster. Information was condensed into Education and Employment.
